The debate over co-ed versus single sex education is as polarising as it is passionate. Champions of the latter, the educators at Mentone Girls’ Grammar felt a responsibility to speak for their category and told us to run towards the argument, not away from it. Armed with that sort of client courage, it was no surprise we found the idea embedded in Mentone Girls’ Grammar itself. Specifically, the philosophy that’s graced the school gates since 1924.
